Hi there 👋

My name is h woo, but most of my friends just call me “H.” I’m a self-taught Korean-American chef and food content creator based in Los Angeles.

In 2017, I started teaching myself how to cook from online videos, which quickly turned into an obsession with food and hosting intimate dinner parties. In 2019, I staged at my first Michelin-starred restaurant and, feeling inspired, started an underground supper club with my friend Owen Han.

In 2020, I briefly stepped away from the idea of cooking as a career, but in 2021 I started posting cooking videos, took a leap of faith, and decided to go all in. From 2022 to now, I’ve staged at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants, hosted numerous sold‑out pop-ups, and leaned into what I call third‑culture Asian American cuisine, mostly because I’m still a little tormented by not having one “proper” culinary style and need something to point to.

Now there are over 2.5 million people following along on my social media, and I’m just trying to get a little better every day until I’m ready to open my own restaurant.

This website is where I can share the stuff that doesn’t really fit anywhere else—from recipes inspired by the restaurants I’ve worked in (that you’re not finding in a cookbook), to collabs with other chefs, to practical recipes you can actually cook at home.

I hope you find it useful and feel comfortable hanging out here, because I want this to be a place where I can connect a little more closely with the people who’ve been following along.
