This is the “alleged” recipe from Hop Sing Laundromat, a speakeasy based in Philadelphia. It’s a rum based cocktail, and it’s a flip, a class of cocktails that’s similar to eggnog. This drink is reminiscent of an orange creamsicle, except it’s sparkling and boozy, creamy, orange, and super chuggable.

Ingredients (7)

Instructions

  1. Add the Licor 43 (½ oz), rum (1 ½ oz), lime juice (¼ oz), condensed milk (1 oz), and egg yolk (1) to a cocktail shaker.

  2. First, dry shake (shake without ice) for about 15-20 seconds to emulsify the egg yolk.

If making a large batch, blend the batch mixture with an immersion blender to emulsify everything together

  3. Then add ice and wet shake (shake with ice) vigorously for another 15-20 seconds to chill the drink.

  4. Express an orange peel over the drink—hold the peel over the glass, colored side down, and give it a good twist to spray the oils over the surface. Strain the cocktail over a large ice cube in a rocks glass. Top with a splash of club soda.
